Some randomness for you to digest.
  • Alabama's been canceled.
  • I'm downloading the first episode of Skins (s3).
  • One week left at 4&5.
  • Back to the Y on the 4th.
  • I love this icon.
  • It finally feels like spring.
  • Grey's Anatomy made me cry this week - But what else is new?
  • I don't know where Meg is.
  • Rachel is my lover.
  • I miss Alex.
  • Yesterday was Pam's birthday - My partner in crime is finally old like me (again).
  • Her boyfriend (of a month) sent flowers to her office yesterday - Yea, I'm not jealous.
  • I still have Easter candy in my room - But no more Cadbury Eggs.
  • I want it to be July.
  • I have to get Connie and Bessie's care package in the mail soon.

In the words of The Fray, "that's enough for now".

My spring break is officially over.  And I come here to brag about my vacation.  Yea... I'm not gonna lie and pretend I'm not.  Haha.

I flew out to San Francisco last Wednesday after work (delayed again... but that's another story entirely) to spend some time with Pam.  And we spent the long weekend in Monterey, Los Angeles, and Santa Monica.

Now it's back to work tomorrow.  Boo.  Two weeks left at 4&5.  Then back to the Y we go.  And such is my life.

Can anyone prove to me that bears with long ears exist?  I mean... a real life bear.  Not a "teddy bear".  I will give anyone who can show me real proof (no photoshopped pics here, people) a lap dance.

Don't mention any of this to Meg either.  She's biased.

The Dark Knight sucked.  (*prepares self for tar and featherings*)

Oh. My. Goodness.  I seriously had such high hopes for this movie.  The first one (as in the one with Katie Holmes), was not good.  But I was so optimistic and prepared to love this one.  70% probably had to do with Heath Ledger's Joker.  But still.

Here's why my dreams were shattered:
  • The cinematography was horrendous.  Worst I have ever seen in a movie.  Seriously.  It honestly looked like the camera had its own natural flow, then someone decided to pan in a different direction using Sony Vegas.  WTF was with all of the bad pans?  It was just awful, and completely took me out of the movie entirely because I was too focused on how bad the camera work was.  "IT'S F***ING DISTRACTING!"  Haha.
  • The coloring was just awful.  Or maybe it was the lighting.  I couldn't tell.  Some scenes were far too dark.  And others were too bright.  That chase scene under the bridge looked especially awful for me.
  • Christian Bale.  What is with him?  That "I'm so scary" voice is the worst ever.  Never do that again.
There were some things I did like.
  • Joker.
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal.
  • Gary Oldman.
On the bright side, I got to spend time with Melissa this week.  She's back from her cruise till the end of next week.  I think she's headed to the Caribbean (with a trip through the Panama Canal, Shar!!) and then Alaska for her next two ships.  And due back in July... Just in time to see Half Blood Prince with me for the 2nd or 3rd time, depending on when she actually gets back to Jersey.  *dances*

And in other news... Kelly's new cd comes out on Tuesday!  I'm so excited!  Me = NERD.

Last night I finished reading The Host.  I had no idea what to expect from this book.  I mean... Stephanie Meyer sucks.  A lot.  But Megala kept insisting that I read it.  And she was right.  It was very good.  I honestly fell in love with one of the characters (I refuse to give you spoilers... but Shar and Meg know who I'm talking about).  Gah.  Love him.  I need to be "welded".  Haha.

Now I'm just going to wait for the movie.  Because I seriously have so many good song ideas already.

On Thursday, Mia and I went back to Old Bay.  Her sister, Tara, bet her $200 to ask out her favorite bar tender who she has been stalking for 3 years.  Now, she's had a boyfriend for most of that time.  But now she finds herself available, so it's GO time.  She was pretty much freaking out the entire time we were there, but when she went outside to smoke and calm her nerves (booooo smoking!), he followed her!  Awww.  I felt like I was in a movie.  That's how cute it was.  As they were talking outside alone for like 20 minutes, I got molested.  Alright... that is a serious exageration.  But the lamest of guys there came up to me and said...

Socially Awkward Boy: I need your opinion on something.
Me: Um... Alright.
S.A.B.: Can a band with only 3 members survive?  I'm the singer.  And my band has a drummer and a guitarist.
Me: Honestly... No.  You need a basist.  (I'm blunt like that.)

If you saw this guy, you'd seriously doubt that he was in a band, let alone the lead singer.  From there, he just asked me like 32,710 questions.  I felt like I was on a job interview.  And he tried to tell me that my favorite book (one of his questions), My Sister's Keeper was kind of like sci-fi.  Um.  No.  Not really.  He was obviously turned on by my teacher cardigan and was trying way too hard to be interesting.  I faked a call from Connie to escape.  Then I actually called Connie and told her my story.  She took pleasure in my misery.

Mia and her manfriend rescued me from another situation with S.A.B.  But he managed to try and get my "digits" (OMG he actually used that word) as we were leaving.  I'm a magnet for freaks, I swear.

meeeeeemeeeeeeee )

Oh, and I forgot to do this.  The truth/truth/lie thing.  The one about me NOT being in a car accident was the lie.  A little over a year ago.  Scariest moment of my life.  Thank goodness I wasn't driving, and no one was seriously hurt.

Thumper actually was my favorite as a child.  And I did go on vacations in a camper with my family.  Twice a year during the summer.  I never stayed in a hotel until my 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.

I think I just had one of the best weekends I've had in the longest time.  And to add the cherry on top, it was a long weekend!  :D

Alright, so it all started off with Valentine's Day.  Now I'm just going to give you a brief overview of my feelings for the holiday.  I love holidays.  I like the idea of decorating and wearing certain colors to be festive.  Yes, I think it's crap how that's the one day you're "supposed" to show your love for the people in your life.  But I still enjoy it.  Because it's a holiday.  And I despise the people who hate it when they're single but love it when they have someone.  Those people are bipolar.  And are too easily swayed with their opinions about things.

/rant.

Now onto my weekend.  I know you're just dying to know all about it.

Jen, Mia and I went to see He's Just Not That Into You.  I love ensemble movies and seeing how everyone is connected.  And this movie was no exception.

I am in love with Ginnifer Goodwin, so I absolutely adored her as GiGi.  And I forget the name of the guy who gave her advice (Jason Long - The Apple Guy), but I very much enjoyed him as well.  I'm not sure they would have been able to carry the movie by themselves, but they were my favorite two characters in the whole movie.  Of course the entire movie was very predictable, but honestly... What chick-flick isn't?  I still loved it.  And will most likely own it on DVD someday...

After the movie, the three of us went to Old Bay in New Brunswick.  I've never been, but it's Mia's favorite bar in the history of the world because she's in love with one of the bartenders.  I discovered my new favorite drink that I created by myself.  And had lots of eyesex with the guitarist in the band that was playing.  The drummer was also very amused by us as well.

That ends Saturday.

Sunday morning I dragged myself out of bed after only about 6 hours of sleep because I needed to get ready to stalk Connie (TikiTyler9).  She was visiting friends up in Asbury and it really would have been a crime against nature if we didn't get together somehow.  Meeting her was like a stalker's wet dream.  Seriously.  Haha.

I only got midly lost on the way there.  The very nice man at the Inn told me that the road I was looking for was literally right in front of my face.  Then of course Connie gave me the wrong house number (which I passed anyway cause some Asbury native was riding my ass).  But eventually we wound up in each other's arms.

Can I just take a moment to discuss how insane it is that I went looking for someone I met on the internet?  I mean really.  You hear these horror stories all the time.  You never really hear the good ones I don't think.

We went to lunch with her friend Becky, BESS, and Bess's friend (we'll call her blonde girl).  Then Connie, Becky and I went to see Taken.

I'm not gonna lie.  I did not like this movie.  The daughter was uber annoying and acted as if she was 9 years old instead of 17.  And she wore ugly shoes with her dress.  Haha.  I am a fan of Liam, but I think he's far too old to play a role like this.  He looked like he was drunk and needed to lie down every time he sucker punched someone in the throat (which was his signature move that never failed to make someone unconcious).  My favorite part was when that guy got hit by the car though.  "TEN POINTS!"

For some reason, the movie got us talking about which one of us would most likely survive a horror movie.  Me.  Of course.

I had dinner with Becky's family, and I love them.  They were crazy.  And that's exactly how it should be.  Plus, that red velvet cake was ah-mazing.  I should have stolen some.

I don't want to get all gushy, but I seriously had such a great time with Connie yesterday.  I think we're very much alike in several ways, and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks the things I do sometimes.  I already know that when she comes back up in the summer, that we're having another date.  Stupid Alabama.  I miss her already.  Back to YT stalking I go.

Anyone who actually read all of that is either really bored or loves me a lot.  Haha.

So I have actually had an extremely busy weekend.

Last night was Katelyn's 24th birthday part at Breakfast Club.  Gah.  My baby's growing up.

Anyways, the Breakfast Club is a place where they only play music from the 80s and 90s.  Which is amazing because how many other places can you get up and dance to "Let's Hear it for the Boy" or "I Wanna Dance (With Somebody Who Loves Me)"?  Not only that, but when you order something to drink... it is served to you in a fish bowl.  Amazing.  My favorite is the Pretty in Pink.  ;D

To make the party better, Tiny Dancer was there!  Long story short... Tiny Dancer is the nickname of this guy that Katelyn, Jen, and I discovered at Colorado Cafe on Black Friday.  He wears all black and a bowler hat and moves like no one else.  I'm talking... pirouettes and all kinds of other fancy dance moves.  Hilarious.  Anyways... he was at Breakfast club last night.  He stalks us.

Today was my boss's daughter's surprise birthday party.  That's all that needs to be said about that...

Ok, now it's meme time.  I stole this from my brother's Facebook.  All you need to do is list 20 random facts about yourself (I guess it's kind of like one big giant "tagged" video...).

01. I straighten my hair.  I haven't been seen in public with my naturally curly hair since 2003.
02. I love going to concerts.  I've seen everyone live from Fall Out Boy to Kelly Clarkson (x3) to Billy Joel and Elton John.
03. I am a travel whore.  I want to go everywhere.
04. Pretty much no one I know calls me by my actual name.
05. I am an extremely picky eater.

Welp.  I start my new job next week.  And can I just say... It's about bloody time (yes, I can be British if I wannabe).  The children at daycare have all gone mental.  And at least 6 are in diapers.  What happened to the MUST BE POTTY-TRAINED rule?  Plus my boss and the lead teacher are... for lack of a better word... IDIOTS.  *sigh*

I saw Revolutionary Road this weekend.  I shall give you my review of ze movie, but first I need to discuss some movie theater etiquette.
  1. Please do not wear a baseball hat.  Is it sunny?  No.  Do you look cool?  No.
  2. Keep your coat on your own chair.  What makes you think that part of my chair is yours to use anyway?
  3. Do not kick the seat in front of you.  Believe it or not, in a sold out show, there is someone sitting in that chair.  And they most likely will not appreciate it.
  4. Please do not talk during the movie.  Maybe a whisper every now and then to your neighbor is fine.  But when you constantly go "Oh no" or "Oh crap" or "Hmmmm" rather loudly it is a tad annoying.  And no one cares what your inferences are anyway.  So the phrase "Oh, she's gonna be naked." is completely unecessary.
All of the above happened to me.  And the man sitting next to me (the baseball hat wearer/talker) is seriously lucky I didn't take the pen I keep in my purse and stab him Red Eye style.

REVIEW - minor spoilers )

Well, I should be heading to bed shortly.  I'm pretending to be a 5th grade teacher, and I need to find some unwrinkled teacher pants.  Or at least Downy wrinkle release some...

I honestly have no expectations of anyone actually doing this with me... I just wanted to answer Meg's ([info]chkrdredhearts) questions.

1. What is the first thing you add to your videos when you edit them [I.E: Color corrector?]
2. If you were to marry one of the characters from "FRIENDS" who would it be and why?
3. When you're in an emo mood, like with my other craptastic poem, what songs or artists do you listen to?
4. If you had to kill(physically kill someone with a knife) ONE person and the then there would be world peace, would you do it? Why or why not?
5. What makes you like a certain character in TV, a movie or in a book? What qualities? Or because they're like you?

"...But you're pretty messed up too"

Is it just me, or does anyone else ever feel the need to just start cleaning late at night?  Well, I had it bad last night.  Me and the fam just finished watching "Big Love" (insane show, but I can't stop watching), I go back to my room, and I just start cleaning.  I'm kind of a slob.  I like leaving my clothes on the floor because I hate putting them away every 3 days when the laundry's done.  And I tend to just keep mail in a pile (I'm a big recycling freak, and I refuse to just throw away anything with my name and address on it, it must be shredded.  So that takes effort, so it just sits.) and I never really get to it.  Well last night, everything got put away, and I took this huge ass pile of recycling to the garage (to our fancy new Stepford wives recycling bin my town gave out).

I am officially excited for tomorrow.  I probably have unrealistic expectations about it all, but I just can't help myself.  I'm not even that into politics.  But I really can't believe Bush is gone.  I've got tears of happiness right now.  Worst.  President.  Ever.  And now we've got Obama, who I really just have so much faith in.  I don't have to go to work, so I know I'm gonna be watching the inaguration.  I think the last one I watched was way back in 3rd grade when Mrs. Baz took the class to the auditorium to see Clinton sworn in.  I was bored and didn't understand, but it's a nice memory to have anyways.

It is a big day here in my house.  After having our 120 gal. fish tank for 4 years (empty for 2 years in this house alone), my father is finally going to put some fish in.  In fact, my parents drove all the way to Pennsylvania just to buy fish.  Apparently they're special when they come from across the state line.

Dave and I have worked out a date for him to come and fix my poor computer.  Monday.  Since he was here 2 weeks ago (as of yesterday), I've inherited some new problems (even though most of the old problems are gone).  I honestly have no idea where any new ones would have even come from because I haven't even been downloading anything because I've been too chicken.
  • Sony Vegas does not work (even after I reinstalled it).
  • Ctrl Alt Delete laughs at me unless I don't actually need it.
  • I can't search for items/programs on my computer.
  • I can't switch user accounts.
  • I get this awesome message from NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM saying that my computer needs to shut down in 45 seconds.
  • And of course... Lots of porn pop ups (But I know those are from my "megalex" virus XD).
Whatever it is that computer was not able to get rid of last time needs to go.

I think I've finally figured out what my New Year's Resolution should be.  I want to read at least one book a month.  I've got all these books I need to get to, so why not and try to get to at least one a month, instead of just 6+ during the summer months?

So for the month of January I've read:
  • "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks
  • "The Tenth Circle" by Jodi Picoult
  • "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult
All excellent reads if anyone's looking for a good book to curl up with.  It might just be me, but I couldn't put them down, and it took me somewhere between 2-3 days to get through each.

Now that all my library books are back at the library, I can finally start on "The Host".  I have no expectations whatsoever because let's face it... It is Stephanie Meyer.  And we all know how she's awesome at making books royally sucks for no good reason.  But I read them anyway.  Go figure.

I also know that at some point before June (or July, I forget), I need to reread "My Sister's Keeper".  And sometime before December, I need to reread "The Lovely Bones".  The movies are coming out soon, and I need a refresher since I can't seem to retain other book info like I can with Harry Potter.  And "Atonement" because I've been putting that off.  And the last two in the "Shopaholic" series.  *sigh*

Now that I seem to be on a roll, does anyone have any suggestions of some other books I should/must read at some point?  I'm always looking for something else to tickle my fancy.  And I'm open to pretty much anything since I'm gonna start treating my books like I treat my music.  Anything goes.
